Over 200 guests, including community members, local nonprofit and business leaders, elected officials, board members, donors and program youth attended Alum Rock Counseling Center’s (ARCC) signature fundraising luncheon on March 29, 2017. We raised over $48,000 for ARCC’s vital programs and services for the youth of our community.

I had the opportunity to shared ARCC’s programs accomplishments and highlights.

We were proud to honor Cindy Chavez, as our 2017 SUPER ROLE MODEL for her important work and contributions to improve the lives of children and families in Santa Clara County.

We heard from Talina and Isela, the two youth speakers who moved and inspired the audience by sharing their personal stories of how ARCC has impacted and changed their lives.

Judge Julia Alloggiamento, shared the stark contrast of what happens to youth if ARCC did not exist, and supports organizations like ARCC “…because I need to know that there are stories that have happy endings.”

The event closed with Girish Shah, ARCC supporter and Advisory Board member by asking for support and stating “you have not given enough, if it does not hurt.”

Special thank you to our Emcee, Guisselle Nunez, who always does a fabulous job and our event planning committee: Anna Cruz, Melinda Chacon, Marcos Herrera, Meri Maben, Guisselle Nunez, Nivisha Mehta, Alma Mora, Patricia Chiapellone and Steve Eckert.

We also want to thank our generous and committed board members for their ongoing support: Anna Cruz, Angel Kelly, Marcos Herrera, Tom McGovern, Scott Whelton, Jon Yap and me (Steve Eckert).

Sincerely,
Steve Eckert
CEO
