POST CRISIS INTERVENTION (PCI) PROGRAM
Helping youth and adults after crisis event has occurred
The Post Crisis Intervention (PCI) Program aims to provide post crisis services to youth and adults referred by the San Jose Police Department (SJPD). PCI Team Members collaborate with the referred youth or adult and their family. Vietnamese and Spanish speaking counselors are available as well.
The PCI Program also provides a 24/7 Hotline Law Enforcement Officers may access for consultation when responding to mental health crisis related calls.
Program Goals
- Reduce the number of repeat mental health calls that can strain limited resources
- Increase the bridge work and collaboration between SJPD, mental health providers and persons referred for mental health follow up
- Provide individuals and their families effective mental health services immediately after a crisis event, and up to 2 weeks post-crisis
