Mental Health Services Deliver Caring Insight and Support
ARCC’s Mental Health Services is an innovative and comprehensive approach to meet the individual needs of youth and their families who are at high risk for incarceration, educational failure, runaway behavior, substance and drug abuse, violence and other delinquent behavior. Based on Santa Clara County’s Project Cornerstone development assets approach, Mental Health Services supports the healthy development of all youth by recognizing and building on their strengths rather than simply reacting to their problems. By providing intensive intervention efforts that focus on the emotional, mental and behavioral health of high-risk children and their families, the long-term health risks associated with delinquent and dysfunctional behaviors will be reduced. Families who are successful in accessing and receiving long-term, linguistically and culturally appropriate mental health services have far-reaching, and potentially long-term, health benefits. What makes ARCC’s programming particularly effective is that it is not only designed to reach and respond to families in crisis, but to go beyond—promoting their long-term stability through a combination of intensive mental health therapy, follow-up, after-care and referrals.
